What is PlayCap?

PlayCap is an angel investment network founded by Bibbi Wikman alongside other women in the games industry. Our goal is to see more women investing in the games industry, and we believe this network offers a fantastic opportunity for us to learn from each other. Through PlayCap, we collectively invest in game studios, game-related companies, and game tech, allowing us to share investments and spread the risks.

Why are we doing investments as a network?

Keeping a good cap table is important for any company. This setup opens up investment opportunities for individuals who want to invest smaller sums in a company while only adding one entity, i.e., "PlayCap," on the company's cap table. By pooling our expertise in game development, company building, leadership, marketing/branding, HR, law, etc., we can support studios and companies more effectively.

So, no men?

For now, this is a women-led initiative. We may consider including men at a later stage if we would like that.

What if I have never done angel investments before?

Even if you are new to angel investing, we encourage you to join. You'll likely learn a lot, and this could be your first step toward making your own investments alongside other experienced women.

If I join, am I obliged to invest?

Joining the network does not obligate you to make an investment. We will circulate interesting deals, and it will always be up to the individual to decide if they want to participate and how much they want to invest.

Is there a fee?

There is no fee to join and be a part of the angel network. However, there will be a small percentage to cover operational costs associated with each investment, only from the investors participating in that particular investment.

How do I join?

To join, please sign up through this link. When you have signed up, we will then send you more information. This form helps me learn more about you, your expertise, and to confirm that it's okay to keep your contact details for the network.

 

I will use your contact details to create a group chat, where we can communicate about the network and potential investment opportunities. We will also send you more details about how the network will operate.

 

Can someone I know join?

Yes! If you know a woman who could be interested in investments in the games industry, please share the link with her and ask her to fill out the form. The more members we have, the better.

 

Do we invest only in women-led game companies?

No, we can invest in any promising opportunities we identify, with no restrictions.
